The SmartLine control system integrates a proprietary on-site weather station to provide microclimate specific, real-time information. The weather stations are wireless with 1,500 foot range and 10 year battery (replaceable AA lithium). The weather station takes weather readings for temperature every 8 seconds and processes the weather information nightly at midnight to incorporate key weather factors (daily high, daily low, and relative humidity) into the algorithm for the controller’s irrigation scheduling engine. Another important factor of the weather station is rain and freeze sensing to eliminate watering in these conditions. The controller receives notification of these events immediately and stops irrigation. When connected to SmartLink, users are made aware online and through email that a weather event has occurred. Due to the unique and deep integration of the weather station into the SmartLine control system, we do not accept weather data inputs from external sources as part of a closed loop system.
