If you are upgrading your current panel or replacing a failed panel, the instructions below will guide you through the process.
Replacement Procedure
Open SmartLink Network and confirm or create a valid Snapshot for the controller so that you can easily save and/or apply the intended programming.
Disconnect power from the controller by unplugging the system or switching off the breaker.
Unplug the RJ-11 adapter of the SmartLink Aircard from the controller’s cabinet and set it aside for later.
Pull the SLW5 down from the mounting bracket, remove the battery cover, carefully slide the battery holder out of the SLW5 and then remove the (2) AAA batteries from the SLW5 Weather Station and set them aside.
Remove the current SmartLine control panel out of the controller’s cabinet.
If returning to Weathermatic, write the controller’s ID number on the back with a permanent marker.
The controller ID number is found the web address of the controller page on SmartLink.
Insert the upgrade or replacement panel into the controller’s cabinet and ensure it is fully connected.
Reconnect power to the controller by plugging the system back in or switching on the breaker.
Wait for the panel to display the time of day and then press the ON button for Rain / Freeze Sensing. The LED should be green and in the ON position of the panel.
Rotate the dial to the ZIP Code / Latitude position of the panel and enter the ZIP code for this location.
Grab the SLW5 and while standing in front of the panel, place the (2) AAA batteries back into the battery holder and watch the small LED adjacent to the set screw on the board. The LED should blink a sequence of four green flashes.
Press and HOLD the test spindle for the rain sensor for 20 seconds and again watch the blink sequence for 4 green blinks (this should occur within 3-5 seconds of pressing the switch). DO NOT RELEASE THE SWITCH. Turn your attention to the panel which should now display a red LED for Rain / Freeze Sensing and the LCD should now display RAIN. Release the test spindle.
Open the panel and plug the RJ-11 adapter of the SmartLink Aircard back into the communications port and ensure the panel is closed fully. Wait for the Aircard LED to become solid green.
Open SmartLink Network on your device and navigate to the controller and press the RECEIVE button to update the controller information into SmartLink Network.
You will see that all system programming defaults to the factory settings.
Open your Snapshots for the controller and click APPLY for the Snapshot that you would like to be sent to the controller. Return to the controller’s home page and click the SEND button. This will push your Snapshot settings from SmartLink to your panel.
Press the test spindle on the SLW5 one last time and confirm the panel’s LED turns red and that the LCD reads RAIN. Once confirmed, reattach the SLW5 to its mounting bracket.
Your system is now ready.
