What is an aircard?
The aircard is a cellular data modem that connects into your Weathermatic irrigation controller. It establishes communication with Weathermatic's servers using cell service, enabling you to control and manage your irrigation controller using SmartLink. The aircard is a necessary component for utilizing the SmartLink service.
Does it require a WiFi signal?
No. Unlike competitors' products which require WiFi signal to be present at the installation site, Weathermatic's aircards use cellular signal; the same signal used by your cell phone. This enables you to install the controller virtually anywhere.
