If your controller is currently showing RAIN when the condition should no longer be present, you will need to inspect the SLW weather station. The SLW disk assembly is most likely hung up due to debris.
- Twist the retaining cap to align the plastic locking ears of the socket and then slide the Rain Disk assembly off of the SLW weather station.
- Make sure there is no debris and inspect the condition of the RAIN DISKS, they may be worn out and need to be replaced. You will also want to look into the top of the SLW and make sure there is no debris keeping the small button on the top of the circuit board held into place creating the RAIN event.
- If you need to replace a worn disk assembly the part can be ordered from your local Weathermatic distributor using the p/n SLW1DISKASSY for the SLW1 (wired) and the SLW5 (wireless) weather stations.
Note: the RAIN DISK assembly should be replaced every 3 to 4 years or when the disks have worn out, whichever occurs first.
If your SLW series weather station is not reporting RAIN, you will need to test the rain switch of the current weather station (you may need an assistant if you have a wired SLW1).
- Position yourself to view the panel’s display while performing the testing procedure.
- First, make sure that the panel is in the ON position for the RAIN/FREEZE SENSING option as indicated by the position of the green LED.
- Next, you will press and hold the rain switch at the top of the sensor for 15 seconds and if the switch is working the panel’s LED for RAIN/FREEZE SENSING will turn red and the panel will display RAIN.
- If this occurs, the SLW series weather station is functioning, and you will need to replace the rain disk assembly in the top of your weather station. The replacement part can be ordered from your local Weathermatic distributor using the p/n SLW!DISKASSY for the SLW1 (wired) and the SLW5 (wireless) weather stations.
If you perform this test and you do not get a response from the system, the current weather station will need to be replaced. You can do this by visiting your local distributor. To learn more, please follow this link to find Where to Buy.
