The latest version of the SmartLink Network Mobile App has support for all models of Apple Watch.
Basic Features
In the initial release, the Apple Watch will automatically detect your location using its GPS sensors (or the sensors on your paired iPhone). Based on this location, it will present you a list of controller at the site geographically closest to you.
In this first release, there is no way to switch the watch to another site, except to physically go there, at which time the watch app should update it's location.
Once you select a controller on your current site, you will have button options to start a zone, run the valve locator, or stop all watering at that controller.
Questions & Issues
My watch shows white text saying that I need to make sure my iPhone app is running and my watch is nearby. What's that about?
Make sure to launch the app on your iPhone and login. Within a few seconds, the watch should pickup your login from the phone and show you the current site. If it does not, you can try logging out on the phone and logging in again, while keeping the watch app active.
The watch isn't showing me the controllers for the site I want!
The watch will use it's current location to pick the closest site to you. There isn't a way to pick a different site at this point, but we'll have that in a future release.
Can I set a custom amount of time to run a zone?
Not yet, right now it will automatically run any zone you select for 10 minutes. We will have more options for different time durations in the future.
I have the iPhone app installed, but I don't see the watch app on my watch! Help!
First, make sure your iPhone and watch are paired properly. Go into the "Watch" app on your iPhone, and make sure you see "SmartLink" under the "Installed on Apple Watch" list. If you don't, scroll all the way to the bottom. If you see it under "Available Apps", hit the "Install" button to send it to your watch. This should not be a common issue, as the app should auto-install the watch app if you have a watch paired to your iPhone when installing the SmartLink Mobile iPhone app.
Do you support Android watches?
Not at this time, but if you think that it would be a good idea, let us know! We try and drive feature development based on customer feedback.
