Learn how to perform the stress test on your SmartLink Aircard to ensure stable connectivity using the instructions provided below
Step 1: Log In and Select Your Controller
- Go to smartlinknetwork.com and enter your login credentials to access your account.
- On the Site Page, find the search bar and type in and select your Site Name from the search results.
- Then click on the Controller name
-OR- - Locate the Controller List at the top, then find and click the Controller name.
Step 2: Verify Signal Strength
- Check the Signal Strength Information by clicking the ? next to the signal bars
- Signal Strength (dBm): -51 dBm is ideal.
- Percentage: 100% is best.
- Bit Error Rate (BER): 0.2% is the best possible.
- Assess for any interference. A moderate level of interference (BER) is 3% to 6%, but anything above 6% could hinder communication.
Step 3: Perform the Stress Test
- Click Receive System to initiate a communication command.
- Perform 10 Receives to test for a stable connection.
- Track the results and monitor for any significant signal deterioration or improvement.
- Achieving 8 out of 10 successful commands indicates a stable connection.
- More than 3 failures out of 10 means the aircard should be relocated higher, outside, and away from electrical equipment.
Step 4: Troubleshooting and Adjustments
- If the signal remains poor, try relocating the Aircard using the provided 36-inch cable.
- Elevate the Aircard above the controller for better reception.
- If further adjustments are necessary, consider using the 50-foot cable option or swapping Cellular Providers.
- Contact Weathermatic Support to request a replacement Aircard if needed.
Additional Tips
- Environmental Factors: Large tree canopies, shrubs, electrical equipment, pedestals, buildings, or overhead power lines can cause interference.
- Monitor Communication Logs: Confirm successful commands by checking the logs in SmartLink Network.
