Learn how to enable Flow Shutdown and set tolerances using SmartLink Network by following the instructions below
Step 1: Log In and Select Your Controller
- Go to smartlinknetwork.com and enter your login credentials to access your account.
- On the Site Page, find the search bar and type in and select your Site Name from the search results.
- Then click on the Controller name

Step 2: Access the Flow Menu
- On the Controller Page, scroll down and select Flow.

Step 3: Enable Flow Shutdown
- Click Edit Flow Settings.
- Locate the Flow Shutdown Mode section.
- Select the zones you want to monitor, or click Enable All to apply to all zones.
Step 4: Set Tolerances Using Percentages (Optional)
- Under the Low Flow Tolerance and High Flow Tolerance sections, you can apply a global percentage tolerance.
- Note that percentages will differ depending on the zone's flow rate.
- 25% of 10 GPM is very different than 25% of 100 GPM.
- By default, percentages are set to 25% for both low and high flow tolerances.
Step 5: Manually Set Flow Limits (Recommended)
- Click Save to apply changes.
- Select Edit Flow Settings again.
- Set a low flow limit to detect issues like closed valves or zero water flow (e.g., 1 gallon per minute).
- Set a high flow limit to detect potential leaks or system failures. Allow for fluctuations by adding a buffer of 5 to 7 gallons per minute above your normal flow.
- Repeat for each zone as needed.
Step 6: Disable Monitoring for Unused Zones (Optional)
- Identify any zones that are not in use or are low-flow zones.
- Disable flow monitoring for these zones to prevent unnecessary alerts.
