Learn why your irrigation controller displays System Off in SmartLink Network and how to resolve it using the instructions below
Understanding System Off Status
- When you log into SmartLink and see System Off on the Site Page or Controller Page, don’t worry.
- This message means irrigation is disabled, but your controller is still online and connected to SmartLink.
- System Off acts as a mechanical safety lockout, preventing both manual and automatic irrigation.
Why Does This Happen?
- The SmartLine Controller connects to SmartLink every night during an overnight update.
- Using a SmartLink Aircard, it uploads the controller’s current information to the cloud.
- If the controller shows in System Off mode, it may require a manual adjustment on-site.
How to Resolve the System Off Status
Step 1: Check the Controller's Dial
- Go to your controller on-site.
- Turn the dial from System Off to Run.
Step 2: Perform a Receive Command
- Log into your SmartLink account at smartlinknetwork.com
- Navigate to the appropriate Controller Page.
- Select the option to Perform a Receive Command to sync the controller’s data with SmartLink Network.
Step 3: Verify Communication and Status
- Confirm that the controller successfully synced.
- Check the controller’s Run Status on SmartLink.
- The System Off message should be cleared.
